Government salaries cannot be paid based on privet school : Pabson President Dhungana

DK Dhungana, President of Private and Residential School, Nepal (Pabson) has said that the instructions given by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City on behalf of Hachuwa cannot be followed. Kampa Mayor Balendra Sah had given instructions four days ago to provide salary facilities to teachers of private schools like teachers of government schools.

Pabson, who became angry after the directive, has called a secretariat meeting today. A meeting of about 15 city committee officials, including one metropolis in the valley, has been called to hold another meeting after the secretariat meeting at 1 o’clock in the afternoon.

In the meeting, it is said that the directives given by KAMPA and the impact on other local levels will be discussed and information about the condition of schools run by institutions, groups and cooperatives will be taken with statistics. According to the information given by Pabson President Dhungana, information about the condition and fees of all the schools operating in the valley will be discussed and then further programs will be carried out based on the opinion.

At present, KAMPA has only instructed private school teachers to provide salaries like the government. However, Pabson fears that other local levels may also make the same decision. Pabson called a meeting to formulate a strategy on the matter saying that there may be a situation where the teachers, rather than the local level, can protest by asking for salary facilities like the government.

President Dhungana said – “Let’s listen to the opinions of all local committee officials, then we will move the rest of the program forward.” It is a whim of the local level to say that the fee has not been increased for 5 years and suddenly provide the government salary. His question was how a school that operates with a fee of 2,000 per month can pay a salary of 68,000. From Nepal Newspaper Daily
