Melamchi Water will come to Kathmandu tomorrow
KATHMANDU- The water of Melamchi drinking water project is going to reach Kathmandu tomorrow (Monday). Water from the Melamchi drinking water project, which was damaged due to floods and landslides, is about to reach Kathmandu from January 1.
Melamchi water was re-routed to Kathmandu from Wednesday evening after the water supply project was repaired.
According to the agreement reached between the Melamchi Water Supply Development Committee and construction company Sino Hydro on January 3rd, the Melamchi water will be brought to Kathmandu in 28 days. Along with this, Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Limited has started preparing to distribute Melamchi water for Kathmandu Valley residents.
Zakki Ahmad Ansari, Project Director of Melamchi Water Supply Development Committee, informed that 170 million liters of water comes to Kathmandu daily from Melamchi. Senior Divisional Engineer Padam Bahadur Kunwar said that the project has sent water to Kathmandu by repairing Gate No. 21, Gate No. 9 and Gate No. 1 of Ambathan.
