President Paudel summons parliament session for Feb 5
President Ramchandra Paudel has summoned the joint session of the both Houses of the federal parliament for February 5 at the federal parliament building, New Baneshwor, Kathmandu. President Paudel called for the session of the both Houses at 4:00 pm on February 5 at the recommendation of the Council of Ministers in accordance with Article 93 (1) of the Constitution.
Nepal Telecom’s former MD Sunil Paudel and SPC’s former Executive Director Bikal Paudel nabbed on corruption allegation
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has taken Sunil Paudel, the former managing director of Nepal Telecom, and Bikal Paudel, the former executive director of the Security Printing Center, into custody on charges of corruption. A CIAA team apprehended both Sunil and Bikal at their respective residences in Shantinagar and Mandikhatar.
NEPSE witnesses 10.25 points decline on Wednesday
Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continues its downward trajectory, for the fourth consecutive day, on Wednesday. Today, the NEPSE index declined by 10.25 points, reaching 2,088.04 points. In today’s trading session, transactions involving a total of 11,004,949 shares of 311 companies were conducted, amounting to NPR 3.89 billion.
UML is pursuing a monarchy agenda: Gagan Thapa
The General Secretary of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC), Gagan Thapa, has raised concerns about the alliance between the CPN-UML and the royalist party Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) formed during the National Assembly elections. Thapa questioned whether the UML is contemplating the introduction of a monarchy agenda in the National Assembly through its alliance with the RPP in Koshi province for the upcoming National Assembly elections.
Janamat Party quit government due to non-cooperative character: Upendra Yadav
Chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), Upendra Yadav, has criticized the Janamat Party for its lack of cooperative behavior and accused them of fleeing from the Madhes government. Yadav stated, “They ran away from the government because they lack cooperative attitude. It has no inclination to cooperate.” Responding to Khabarhub’s query about the Janamat Party’s departure from the Madhes government, Yadav emphasized the importance of maintaining certain behaviors within a coalition.
