Open to scrutiny, ready to face consequences over Rs 17 million ’embezzlement’ rumor: Rabi Lamichhane
Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has openly stated his willingness to face consequences if found guilty in the cooperative fund embezzlement case. In a press conference held on Monday at the party headquarters in Banasthali, Kathmandu, Lamichhane challenged any state institution to thoroughly examine his account. “Any institution is welcome to check my account. If I am found to have taken Rs. 17 million, I am ready to face the consequences,” declared the RSP chair.

The National Examination Board (NEB) has decided to hold this year’s Secondary Education Examination (SEE) from March 28 to April 9, 2024. Board Chairman, Dr. Mahashram Sharma, said that the decision was made to conduct the SEE examination only after the conclusion of the Holi festival, which falls on March 24 and 25.
Clash in Rajbiraj leaves Education Minister and three MPs injured
A clash erupted in Rajbiraj on Monday between Janamat party activists and police, resulting in injuries to Mahesh Prasad Yadav, the Minister for Education and Culture of Madhes province, along with three lawmakers. The incident unfolded when Janamat Party activists obstructed the inauguration program of the Province Agriculture University. In the course of events, Education Minister Yadav, along with province MPs Satish Singh, Ranju Khang, and Bhagyashree Chaudhary, sustained injuries in the clash, as reported by Janamat’s Secretary BP Sah.

Police nab fake doctor from Kathmandu
A man has been apprehended on charges of engaging in medical practices using counterfeit certificates. Police arrested 40-year-old Samridha Bhattacharya, a resident of Biratnagar-2. According to Inspector, a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Division detained him on Monday from Basundhara.
RPP-UML form alliance for NA election in Koshi
