The ruling Jaspa has been rocked by the agreement to probe the Gaur murder case

Kathmandu – After the agreement between the government and the protesting parties to investigate the Gaur murder case, there has been a ripple in the ruling party Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP). On Tuesday, the 5-point agreement reached between the government and the Gaur massacre victims’ struggle committee was agreed to investigate the Gaur massacre.

Jaspa was shaken after the leaders of Jaspa from the district level to the center were dragged in the investigation of the scandal 17 years ago.

Jaspa President Upendra Yadav has already expressed his displeasure in this matter by meeting Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Chairman of the other ruling party Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba. An informal meeting of the JSP central working committee members available in the capital was held at the central office at Balkumari in Lalitpur on Wednesday to discuss the situation arising after the agreement between the government and the protesting parties.

It was agreed between both the parties that the complaint registered at that time should be investigated and the guilty would be prosecuted according to the law based on the facts and evidence.

Jaspa, which has been saying that the incident took place during a political movement, has said that the government should not treat it as if it were a personal crime.

‘This agreement was made as part of a conspiracy to trap Jaspa. We have a serious objection to this and we have taken it seriously’ Jaspa leader and MP Pradeep Yadav told Ekantipur, ‘The party will hold a meeting on this matter and formally announce its opinion.’

In a meeting with Prime Minister Dahal and Congress President Deuba, Chairman Yadav said that the latest agreement could create distrust within the alliance.

‘When I was in the opposition, there was a matter for the government to investigate. But his own party is in the government and the leaders from his district to the center will be investigated. It seems that there will be distrust within the alliance’ said a leader of Jaspa. There are 12 JSP MPs in the House of Representatives and 2 ministers from that party.

On March 7, 2063, 27 people were killed in a clash between the CPN-Maoist and the then Madhesi People’s Rights Forum regarding a public meeting at Ricemill Chowr in Rautahat Gaur.

In the said agreement, it is mentioned that the complaints registered at that time regarding the death and injuries in the incident that occurred in Rautahat on 7th Chait, 2063 will be investigated and the guilty will be prosecuted according to the law based on the facts and evidence.
