Asia Cup: Nepal gives India a target of 231 runs

 Under the Asia Cup Cricket 2023, Nepal has given a target of 231 runs to India.

After winning the toss in the match undergoing in Sri Lanka India chose to bowl and Nepal, who batted first, was bowled out for 230 runs in 48.2 overs.

Aasif Sheikh, the opening batsman for Nepal, got out after hitting a half-century. He was dismissed for 58 runs off 97 balls with the help of 8 fours. He became the first Nepali batsman to score a half-century in the Asia Cup and against India.

Another opener Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed after scoring 38 runs. He hit 3 fours and 2 sixes in 25 balls before being dismissed in the fifth ball of the tenth over by Shardul Thakur. He got Nepal off to a good start with a partnership of 65 runs in 9.5 overs with Aasif Sheikh for the first wicket.

After Bhurtel got out, Nepal lost consecutive wickets.

Captain Rohit Paudel was dismissed for 5 runs by Ravindra Jadeja. Kushal Malla was dismissed for 2 runs as the fourth wicket. Bhim Sarki was also bowled in 16 overs by India’s Jadeja for 7 runs.

As the sixth wicket, Gulsan Jha got out after scoring 23 runs of 3 fours in 35 balls. He shared a 31-run partnership with Asif Sheikh for the fifth wicket.

Dipendra Singh Airee and Sompal Kami shared a 50-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Dipendra contributed 29 runs with 3 fours off 25 balls before being caught lbw by Hardik Pandya.

Sompal Kami batted brilliantly before being dismissed as the eighth wicket. He added 48 runs before being dismissed in 47.2 overs by Mohammad Sami. Sompal hit 1 four and 2 sixes in 56 balls.

Soon after, Sandeep Lamichhane was run out for 9 runs and as the last wicket, Lalit Rajvanshi was dismissed for zero.

India’s Jadeja and Mohammad Siraj took 3 wickets each in bowling.

The team that wins the match will advance to the Super Four. If the match is canceled due to rain, India will reach the Super Four if Nepal is eliminated.
